Therapy Intensives in Pittsburgh & Online Throughout Pennsylvania

Extended Therapy for Trauma, OCD, EMDR, and Nervous System Healing

Sometimes healing needs more space than a traditional 50-minute session can offer.

Therapy intensives provide focused, uninterrupted time to work through the memories, patterns, intrusive thoughts, or nervous system responses that have been keeping you stuck.

Whether you're looking to process trauma through EMDR or break free from OCD using my Hack My OCD™ framework, we'll create an intensive experience tailored to your goals, schedule, and nervous system.

A therapy intensive is an extended therapy session—or series of sessions—that allows us to do deeper, more focused work than is often possible in weekly therapy.

Instead of stopping just as you're beginning to make progress, intensives create space to stay with the work, build momentum, and integrate what you've learned before returning to daily life.

For many people, this means making meaningful progress in days rather than stretching the work across months.

Is a Therapy Intensive Right for You?

A therapy intensive may be a good fit if you:

✓ Feel like weekly therapy isn't giving you enough time

✓ Have limited availability because of work, parenting, or travel

✓ Are preparing for a major life transition

✓ Want focused support around trauma, PTSD, or OCD

✓ Have done therapy before but still feel stuck

✓ Want to make meaningful progress without waiting week after week

What Transformation Can Look Like

Every healing journey is different, and no ethical therapist can promise a specific outcome.

Your story, your nervous system, your history, and your goals are uniquely yours.

What I can tell you is that therapy intensives are intentionally designed to create meaningful momentum through extended, focused time together using evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, somatic therapy, ACT, EXRP, I-CBT, IFS, mindfulness, and personalized integration planning.

While every person's experience is different, people leave my intensives saying things like:

What People Often Notice After an Intensive

People often describe leaving an intensive feeling...

  • More clarity and purpose.

  • Calmer, more grounded, and less overwhelmed by stress.

  • More connected to themselves, their values, and the life they want to live.

  • Greater space between a trigger and their reaction.

  • More compassion for themselves and others.

  • Better able to navigate difficult conversations with confidence and ease.

  • More present with their children and loved ones, rather than getting pulled into survival mode.

  • Hopeful about the future instead of simply getting through each day.

For trauma-focused intensives:

  • Traumatic memories often feel like memories instead of experiences you're reliving.

  • Many people describe feeling as though they've finally set down a backpack they've been carrying for years.

For Hack My OCD™ intensives:

  • Intrusive thoughts feel less urgent and demanding.

  • You become better able to notice thoughts without automatically responding to them.

  • You feel more connected to your values than to obsessive doubt.

  • Instead of feeling trapped in your mind, you begin trusting yourself to move forward—even when uncertainty is present.

You don't leave as someone new.

You leave with more access to the person who was there all along beneath survival mode.

Your Trusted Intensive Guide

Brittany Steiner, LPC, YTT- 200

Choosing a therapy intensive is a meaningful decision.

You are not just choosing a service. You are choosing someone to walk with you through vulnerable, focused, and emotionally important work.

I do not take that lightly.

My role as an intensive therapist is to help create a space that feels steady, paced, and supportive enough for deeper healing to happen. Clients and colleagues have often reflected that one of my strengths is my ability to hold space, follow the client’s pace, and stay grounded while supporting emotionally complex work.

My approach is trauma-informed, somatic-based, and integrative. I draw from EMDR therapy, IFS-informed parts work, ACT, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and body-based practices to support both insight and embodied healing.

I am EMDR trained and continue to lean into ongoing consultation, supervision, professional development, and community resources to support ethical, thoughtful, and effective care. At my core, I love guiding people through transformation and healing.

Because intensives are fully virtual, trust matters even more.

Before you commit to an intensive, we will spend time getting to know each other, clarifying your goals, identifying the main pillars of the work, and determining whether an intensive is the right fit for you.

You do not have to decide everything from one consultation call.

The process typically looks like this:

→ We begin with a consultation to talk through your needs, goals, needs, and questions.

→ If it feels like a possible fit, we schedule two to three preparation sessions at my standard therapy rate ($150).

→ During those sessions, we identify the focus areas, assess readiness, build resources, and decide which intensive format best supports your needs.

→ Once the intensive plan is clear, you can move forward with payment or a payment arrangement.

→ A 20% deposit is required before the intensive begins.

→ My intensives are fully virtual. I coach you to set up your healing space in the most grounded and accessible way. Nothing fancy is needed but we do want to be mindful of your nervous systems capacity and needs.

This process is designed to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported before entering deeper work.

A therapy intensive should not feel like being dropped into the deep end.

It should feel like being guided into meaningful work with clarity, care, and enough support around you to help your nervous system know you are not doing it alone.

Trauma Intensive Options

Therapy intensives are offered in several formats depending on the depth, complexity, and goals of the work. Together, we'll determine the option that best fits your needs, readiness, and desired outcomes.

Focused Momentum Session

  • Half-day Intensive • $900 • 3 Hours + 1 hour intake completed before the intensive (included in the cost of the intensive)

A focused, structured session designed for individuals who want more than a traditional therapy appointment but may not need a full-day intensive.

This format allows time to slow down, explore what's getting in the way, develop practical strategies, and begin creating meaningful movement toward your goals.‍ ‍

Core Focus Intensive

One-Day Intensive • $1,575 • 6 Hours + 1 hour intake completed before the intensive (included in the cost of the intensive)

Ideal for a single concern, memory, trigger, or pattern you'd like to address with focused support.

This structured one-day intensive provides dedicated time for processing, nervous system regulation, and integration without the interruptions of weekly therapy.

Sustained Momentum Intensive

Two-Day Intensive • $3,375 • 6 Hours per day + 2 hour intake completed before the intensive (included in the cost of the intensive)

Designed for individuals seeking deeper exploration and continuity across sessions.

This format allows us to work with multiple related experiences or themes while creating space for reflection, consolidation, and integration between days.

Deepening Intensive

Three-Day Intensive • $4,950 • 6 Hours per day + 3 hour intake completed before the intensive + 1 hour integration session (included in the cost of the intensive)

A multi-day intensive for individuals ready to engage in more comprehensive healing work.

This format creates space to explore layered experiences and recurring patterns while maintaining a structured, trauma-informed pace.

Comprehensive Intensive Experience

Four-Day Intensive • $6,525 • 6 Hours per day + 3 hour intake completed before the intensive + 1 hour integration session (included in the cost of the intensive)

The Comprehensive Healing Experience is an extended EMDR intensive designed for clients seeking deep trauma processing alongside embodied integration and nervous system recalibration.

This multi-day format offers intentionally spacious pacing, allowing time for processing, rest, and integration so change can be felt and sustained beyond the intensive itself. It is best suited for clients with complex or long-standing trauma who value a slower, highly supported approach to healing.

*Payment arrangements are available for therapy intensives. 20 % deposit is required to reserve your dates, and the remaining balance may be divided into automatic payments prior to your intensive. We can discuss available options during your consultation.

🧠 Hack My OCD™ Intensive

A Two-Day Intensive for Breaking the OCD Cycle

The Hack My OCD™ Framework

Decode → Expose → Rewrite → Practice → Live

2 Days | 13 Clinical Hours (2- hour intake/preparation, 10-hour intensive, 1- hour post-integration session) | $2,925

If you're exhausted by intrusive thoughts, obsessive doubt, compulsions, mental reviewing, reassurance seeking, or endless "what if?" thinking, this intensive is designed to help you understand how OCD works—and how to stop getting pulled into its cycle.

Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, the Hack My OCD™ Intensive combines evidence-based treatments including I-CBT, ERP (when appropriate), ACT, Attention Training Technique (ATT), narrative therapy, somatic strategies, and EMDR when clinically indicated. Every intensive is tailored to your unique OCD presentation and goals.

What We'll Do

During this two-day intensive, we'll work together to:

  • Understand how OCD keeps you stuck.

  • Identify your personal OCD patterns, triggers, and compulsions.

  • Learn practical tools for responding differently to intrusive thoughts and obsessive doubt.

  • Practice these skills in real time with coaching and feedback.

  • Create a personalized plan for continuing your progress after the intensive.

The Hack My OCD™ Framework

Using my signature framework, we'll move through five core stages:

Decode → Expose → Rewrite → Practice → Live

Rather than trying to eliminate every intrusive thought, we'll focus on helping you recognize OCD's tricks, respond with greater flexibility, and reconnect with the life you want to live.

After the Intensive

Clients often leave feeling:

  • More able to notice thoughts without automatically responding to them.

  • Less pulled into obsessive doubt, rumination, and mental rituals.

  • More connected to their values than to fear.

  • Better able to tolerate uncertainty with confidence.

  • Clearer about how OCD operates—and how to keep moving forward, even when uncertainty is present.

Healing doesn't have to happen one hour at a time

Frequently Answered Questions

What is a therapy intensive?

A therapy intensive is an extended therapy session or series of sessions designed to help you make meaningful progress in a shorter period of time. Rather than spreading the work across months of weekly sessions, intensives create dedicated space to focus deeply on a specific concern, trauma, core belief, life transition, or healing goal.

How is a therapy intensive different from weekly therapy?

Traditional therapy typically takes place for 50–60 minutes each week. Therapy intensives provide several hours of focused support over one or multiple days, allowing us to spend less time reorienting and more time moving through the work. Many people find intensives helpful when they feel stuck, want momentum, or have limited availability for ongoing weekly sessions.

What concerns can a therapy intensive help with?

Therapy intensives may be helpful for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, OCD, perfectionism, attachment wounds, life transitions, burnout, grief, medical trauma, religious trauma, racial trauma, and negative core beliefs that continue to impact daily life.

Will we use EMDR during the intensive?

If appropriate, yes. EMDR is one of the approaches I often incorporate into therapy intensives. Depending on your goals, we may also integrate somatic therapy, parts work, mindfulness, ACT, narrative therapy, nervous system regulation skills, and personalized integration planning.

How do I know if a therapy intensive is right for me?

Therapy intensives are often a good fit if you feel ready to focus deeply on a specific issue, want to make meaningful progress in a shorter period of time, have difficulty attending weekly sessions, or feel like traditional therapy alone is not providing the momentum you are looking for.

Are therapy intensives offered virtually?

Yes. Therapy intensives are offered virtually to clients located in Pennsylvania. Many people are surprised by how effective virtual intensives can be. Together, we create a supportive environment using your own comfortable space, with guidance around privacy, comfort, grounding tools, and nervous system support.

What can I expect after a therapy intensive?

Many people report feeling lighter, clearer, more connected to themselves, and better able to understand patterns that previously felt overwhelming. Others feel reflective or emotionally tired after focused work. Each intensive includes time for integration planning so you leave with practical tools and next steps to support continued healing.

Do I need to be an existing client to schedule an intensive?

No. Therapy intensives are available for both new and existing clients. We will begin with a consultation to determine whether an intensive is the best fit for your goals and current needs.

Getting Started

All therapy intensives begin with a consultation and preparation sessions to ensure they are clinically appropriate and aligned with your needs.

Step 1: Schedule a consultation
Step 2: Discuss goals, readiness, and recommended format
Step 3: Attend preparation sessions to get a feel for one another

Step 4: Complete informed consent and payment
Step 5: Schedule your intensive and receive preparation details
